Affirmations (meaning statements said with confidence about a perceived truth) have helped thousands of people make significant changes in their lives. We use affirmations in pregnancy and labour to help feel more positive about the upcoming experience.
An affirmation can work because it has the ability to program your mind into believing the stated concept. This is because the mind doesn't know the difference between what is real or what is fantasy. There are both positive and negative types of affirmations. I'm sure many of you have been told certain things about labour; how it is or how it might feel. But why does this have to be that way for you? Any unwholesome statements that we have heard can stay with us in the conscious or unconscious mind, which we then reinforce throughout our pregnancy. Each week we like to bring to you a video of positive birth experiences. This week we share the interview that Paula Lane gave in 2017 following her hypnobirthing course with Katharine Graves herself. Each week we like to share a video with you. This week are a looking at gentle c-sections, as explained by the Jentle Childbirth Foundation. This is still major surgery, but the video explains to you how you can ask your caregivers to treat your birth experience as a personal and memorable event, rather than simply a medical procedure.
Each week we like to share a video with you. This week, we cover the stages of labour as explained by Armando Hasudungan My personal comments are that: Not all contractions are painful. Yes, they can be intense and powerful, but not necessarily painful (hypnobirthing techniques can help you with contractions).
Each month we like to share with you positive birth experiences, to show you how calm, comfortable and amazing a natural birth can be like. One video on it's own doesn't convince anyone, that's why we have a list on our Videos page, so that you can watch others.
